Dear all,

The Federation of European Publishers (FEP) regrets to announce the death on 18 August of its former Treasurer, Brussels’ publisher Jean Vandeveld, Director of the legal publishing house Bruylant. Between 1990 and 2011, Jean was delegate of the Association of Belgian Publishers (ADEB) to the Federation of European Publishers and for almost 10 years, he was its Treasurer. All generations of publishers and representatives of FEP member associations have precious memories of Jean Vandeveld who, in addition to his very fine knowledge of the trade, was an excellent travelling companion.

FEE President, Flemish publisher Rudy Vanschoonbeek says „Working with Jean was a real pleasure, he was a serious publisher at the head of a beautiful publishing house but also a true friend to those who, like me, were lucky enough to know him. I was delighted to see him again at the farewell dinner that the FEP had organised on the occasion of the retirement of Bernard Gérard, Director of ADEB. On behalf of our Board of Directors and the entire FEP team, I offer our most sincere condolences to his family and friends. »

His funeral will take place on Friday 21 August in Brussels.

Kind Regards

Anne (Anne Bergman-Tahon, Director)
